How to Check a Giftcardmall MyGift Card Balance
MyGift is the balance area for the Visa and Mastercard gift cards sold through Giftcardmall — searched as mygiftcardmall, mygift giftcardmall or giftcardmall/mygift. They all mean the same thing.
Opens the official site in a new tab — it forwards to MyCardWallet. Your card details are entered there, never here.
Short answer: type giftcardmall.com/mygift into your address bar yourself. As of 17 October 2026 it forwards to mycardwallet.com, the card site run by Blackhawk Network (the company behind Giftcardmall). Enter your 16-digit card number, expiry date and 3-digit security code there — or call the number printed on the back of your card.
This is an independent guide. We are not Giftcardmall, MyGift or Blackhawk Network and have no affiliation with them. We never ask for your card number or security code — enter those only on the card issuer's own site, app or phone line.
What changed: where giftcardmall.com/mygift goes now
Many older guides still tell you to "go to mygift.giftcardmall.com". That is out of date. When we tested the addresses on 17 October 2026, both forwarded to Blackhawk Network's own sites:
- giftcardmall.com/mygift
- Forwards to mycardwallet.com/chs/mygift — the MyGift balance page.
- giftcardmall.com
- Forwards to giftcards.com — the store for buying cards.
Both destinations are run by Blackhawk Network, which also publishes the MyCardWallet app. So if you land on mycardwallet.com after typing giftcardmall.com/mygift, that is expected — not a sign something is wrong. What is a warning sign is reaching a "MyGift" page any other way: from a text message, an ad, a QR code, or a search result on a domain that is not mycardwallet.com or giftcardmall.com.
What you need before you start
Every method except the app asks for the details printed on the card itself — on the back of a physical card, or in the email for an eGift card.
Method 1: Check online (fastest)
- Open a new tab and type giftcardmall.com/mygift — don't click a search result.
- Let it forward you, and check the address bar now shows mycardwallet.com.
- Enter the 16-digit card number, the expiry date and the 3-digit security code.
- Your available balance and any pending transactions appear on screen.
A genuine MyGift balance check never asks for your Social Security number, a bank login, or a payment. Any page that does is not the official one.
Opens the official site in a new tab. Your card details are entered there, never here.
Method 2: Check by phone
The automated line reads your balance back to you. Call the number printed on the back of your card — not one from a search result, as fake "MyGift support" numbers are a common way these cards are drained.
Method 3: The MyCardWallet app
Blackhawk Network's MyCardWallet app shows the balance, stores the card, and adds it to Apple Wallet so you can tap to pay. Download it only from the App Store or Google Play listing published by Blackhawk Network.
Why your balance looks lower than expected
The most common reason is a pending hold, not missing money. Some merchants reserve more than the final charge:
- Gas pumps often hold $100–$175 before you've pumped a drop.
- Hotels and car rental desks add a deposit on top of the price.
- Restaurants may hold the bill plus an estimated tip.
Once the merchant finalizes the charge — usually within a few days — the unused part of the hold is released and your available balance goes back up. The simple way to read it: available = amount loaded − completed purchases − pending holds − any fees.
MyGift Visa vs MyGift Mastercard
Giftcardmall sells both. The logo decides where the card is accepted, not how you check the balance — the MyGift route is the same for both. A quick tip: Visa card numbers start with 4, Mastercard numbers with 5 or 2.
If a card with enough balance is still declined, the usual causes are:
- The card was never activated at purchase (keep the receipt).
- An online store wants a billing ZIP code — some cards need you to register one first on the MyGift page.
- The merchant is placing a hold bigger than your remaining balance.
- The merchant doesn't accept prepaid cards for that purchase (common with subscriptions and car rentals).
MyGift card rules worth knowing
Most guides stop at the balance check. These are the terms that actually catch people out.
- Expiry
- The plastic card carries a date, but under US federal rules the money on a gift card generally cannot expire for at least five years from when it was loaded. If the card expires first, call the number on the back about a replacement.
- Fees
- Any purchase or inactivity fees are set out in the cardholder agreement that came with the card. Federal rules limit inactivity fees to cards left unused for 12 months or more.
- No cash back
- These are prepaid cards — you can't withdraw cash at an ATM or have the balance paid out to a bank account.
- Lost or stolen
- Report it immediately on the number on the back. Keep the receipt and the card packaging; you will likely need both. Photograph the front and back when you receive the card.
Typos that send you to the wrong site
Short brand names are easy to mistype, and scammers register pages that rank for the typos. If you've arrived anywhere by mistyping, close it and type giftcardmall.com/mygift again, carefully. Common slips:
- mcgift giftcardmall — a "c" in place of the "y" in mygift.
- mygiftcardmall / mygiftcardmall.com — a description, not the real address (giftcardmall.com/mygift).
- www giftcardmall com mygift visa — the same destination as the Mastercard version; the route is identical for both.
Avoid fake MyGift balance sites
A card number plus its security code is everything needed to spend the card online. There is no password and no verification step, so anyone who collects those fields can drain the balance, and a stolen gift card balance is rarely refunded.
Never type your card details into any page that isn't mycardwallet.com or giftcardmall.com. Be especially wary of pages that look different on your phone than on a computer, ask you to "verify" or "unlock" your card, or show a countdown. See how to spot a fake gift card balance site.
